Northern front.

The occupation of Russia by ANTANTA forces began on March 6, 1918, from landing the England-French and American troops in Russian North. Having grasped Murmansks, western forces expected to supply armies by the sea way, to create here military bases and to be set from here in the further offensive. Officially this intrusion on Russian territory was presented as " the help from the ANTANTA for protection of territory and Murmansk railway from the German armies ".

Northern Front of White movement headed by the general Miller, was since August 1918 till February, 1920. This front was most insignificant and was formed under the initiative of the Englishmen. In the beginning of 1918 in city Arkhangelsk there were huge warehouses of the weapon and ammunition bought even by imperial government in West. Were afraid, that all this will get in hands of Germany, England has sent in Arkhangelsk rifle brigade for protection of these warehouses. In the beginning of July the Supreme Commander of ANTANTA has accepted the decision on expansion of intervention. July 31 the Englishmen have grasped Onega, and August 2 - Arkhangelsk. Russian anticommunists in this area - in the majority the officers - have taken advantage of arrival of the Englishmen, have arranged revolt and have formed Northern Front. Per day of intrusion of the English forces in Arkhangelsk there was a military revolution under the direction of the captain of 2nd rank Chaplin.   The first time the Bolsheviks did not render practically any resistance. The Soviet authorities from Arkhangelsks ran in Vologda. Dvina river "militarian" fleet has left upwards on the river and has settled down under Totma. In connection with these events Lenin has ordered to strengthen a terror. In his opinion, it should be made that " they saw, how the proletarian authority is able to clap by a door before the leaving ".
